# Social accounts

> Connect social accounts to a Naive Managed Agents identity and let its agent publish under policy.

Social accounts belong to an **identity**. If Ava and Billing are two identities in the same
organization, they activate and connect separate social workspaces. An agent can publish only when
its session selected the identity that owns those accounts.

The setup flow is short:

1. Activate Social for the identity with `POST /v1/identities/{id}/social/activate`.
2. Create a hosted portal link with `POST /v1/identities/{id}/social/portal`.
3. Give the returned URL to the person who owns the accounts.
4. Poll `GET /v1/identities/{id}/social/accounts`; it reads the provider's current state.

Naive Managed Agents never receives an OAuth token. It stores only which remote workspace belongs to the identity;
the provider holds and refreshes account grants.

The Worker must have `VETTA_SOCIAL_API_KEY` configured. This is the social publishing provider's
key, not the [connections](https://vetta.sh/docs/identity/connections.md) provider's. Without it, activation fails closed
with `feature_not_configured`.

## Agent tools

When a session selects an activated identity, its harness receives five tools:

* `social.accounts` lists connected accounts.
* `social.post` publishes or schedules a text post.
* `social.status` reads one published post's status and per-network analytics, by the id `social.post` returned.
* `social.post_metrics` reads how the organization's recent posts are doing, each metric against the identity's usual.
* `social.cancel` calls back a post the identity scheduled, by the id `social.post` returned, while it is more than
  two minutes from going out. It is offered wherever `social.post` is and asks first, even beside an allowed
  `social.post`; on a harness that cannot ask, it is offered only where the toolset allows it by name. There is
  no reschedule: to move a post, cancel it and post again with the new time, which is a second post fee. A
  cancelled post lists as `failed`, with the error "cancelled before it went out".

On the `pi` harness, every agent seated on the company board is also told, each turn, which accounts the company
has connected — the network and the handle, never an id — so a teammate that does not post itself knows the
account is there. A turn waits at most a few seconds for that list; an account the social layer cannot list in
time is left out of that turn.

`social.post` takes an opt-in `ai_generated`: a post that sets it carries each network's AI-content
label where it has one and ends its caption with `#AIgenerated`. Without it a post is unlabelled (see
[AI-generated posts](https://vetta.sh/docs/api/social.md#ai-generated-posts)).

`social.post` defaults to `ask`, including when the agent's default tool policy is `allow`. Set an
explicit policy for `social.post` if the agent should always be allowed or denied. A session with no
selected identity receives none of them.

Publishing supports text and URL-backed media on Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Threads,
and X. The account portal also connects Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Reddit. The API
can read account/post analytics and post comments, and can delete a post after verifying it belongs
to the identity's provider workspace.
