# vetta identity social

> Activate social publishing for a persona, connect accounts, and publish posts.

Social accounts belong to a [persona](https://vetta.sh/docs/cli/identity.md), so every command takes `--identity`. Reached as `vetta identity social <command>` — three words, where `social` is a sub-group rather than a positional argument. See [Social publishing](https://vetta.sh/docs/identity/social.md) for the model.

## Commands

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `vetta identity social activate` | Activate social publishing for a persona. |
| `vetta identity social status` | Read the workspace and its connected accounts. |
| `vetta identity social portal` | Mint the hosted page where a person authorizes accounts. |
| `vetta identity social accounts` | List the persona's connected accounts. |
| `vetta identity social post` | Publish or schedule a post as the persona. |
| `vetta identity social show` | Read one post. |
| `vetta identity social rm` | Delete a post. |
| `vetta identity social upload` | Stage a media file for a post. |
| `vetta identity social analytics` | Read metrics for a post or an account. |
| `vetta identity social comments` | List a post's comments. |

`--identity` takes either an `idn_` id or the persona's name; the API resolves both.

## activate

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social activate --identity ava
```

Idempotent — re-running answers the same workspace. On a deployment with no social credential bound, this answers `501 feature_not_configured`.

## status

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social status --identity ava
```

```json theme={"system"}
{ "object": "social_workspace", "identity_id": "idn_…", "activated": true, "accounts": [] }
```

## portal

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social portal --identity ava \
  --redirect-url https://studio.example.com/done --platform x --platform linkedin
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--identity` | Persona id or name (required; also accepted positionally). |
| `--redirect-url` | Where the person lands after authorizing; defaults to the persona's studio screen. |
| `--platform` | Limit the page to these platforms (repeatable). |

Nothing changes until a person authorizes an account on the minted page.

## accounts

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social accounts --identity ava
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--limit` | Page size. |
| `--after` | Pagination cursor. |

## post

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social post --identity ava \
  --message "Shipping day." --platform x --platform linkedin \
  --media-url https://cdn.example.com/launch.mp4
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--message` / `--text` | The post body (required). |
| `--title` | Optional title; defaults to the body's first 100 characters. |
| `--platform` | Target platform (required, repeatable). |
| `--schedule-at` | RFC 3339 timestamp; omitted means now. |
| `--media-url` | A public media URL to attach (repeatable, up to 10). |
| `--file-id` | A stored `fil_` id to attach (repeatable, up to 10). |
| `--visibility` | `public`, `unlisted`, or `private`. Only `mastodon` and `youtube` accept it; omitted means the account's own default. |
| `--ai-generated` | The media was made with AI: each network's AI label where it has one, and `#AIgenerated` at the end of the caption. Opt-in: without it a post is unlabelled, a file rendered as a character included. See [AI-generated posts](https://vetta.sh/docs/api/social.md#ai-generated-posts). |

## show / rm

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social show --identity ava --post <post-id>
vetta identity social rm --identity ava --post <post-id>
```

## upload

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social upload --identity ava --url https://cdn.example.com/launch.mp4
```

## analytics

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social analytics --identity ava --post <post-id>
vetta identity social analytics --identity ava --account <account-id>
```

Pass exactly one of `--post` or `--account`.

## comments

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta identity social comments --identity ava --post <post-id>
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--limit` | Page size. |
| `--after` | Pagination cursor. |

## vetta post list

Every post the company files, across personas: the ones waiting on a person, scheduled, posted and
failed ([`GET /v1/posts`](https://vetta.sh/docs/api/social#list-the-companys-posts)).

```bash theme={"system"}
vetta post list --status pending
vetta post list --status posted --identity ava
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `--status` | `pending`, `scheduled`, `posted` or `failed`. |
| `--identity` | Only this persona's posts (`idn_` id). |
| `--agent` | Only posts this agent filed (`agt_` id). |
| `--no-reconcile` | List what is stored, without first asking the network about posts that are due. By default the list asks first, and may record what it learns. |
| `--limit` | Page size. |
| `--after` | Pagination cursor. |
